First of all thanks to the Creator that the Earth   has the poles and due to it exist such places like the Antarctic. And thanks to our Fortune we are bound up with it. Communication manager and scientific co-leader in the First and the Second Ukrainian Antarctic Expeditions at the Akademik Vernadsky station during 1995/98. Professional radio operator of polar stations and expeditions, worked in the E.Krenkel observatory on Heiss Island of Franz Josef Land archipelago in Arctic during 1983/90. Active radio amateur since 1976, has rank “Master of sports of USSR”. Operated under UB5KBE, UA1OT, 4K2OT, 3W/4K2OT, UB1KA, UX1KA, EM1KA, VP8CTR, LU/UX1KA,  UT7UA, UK1PGO, XY0RR, 1S0RR, 9D0RR, UU0SPY, EM1U and other. Participated in radio amateur expeditions in Myanmar(Burma), Vietnam, Spratli islands and Iran. Founder and president of Ukrainian Antarctic DX Club (UADXC).

Svetlana Krakovskaia

Svetlana Krakovskaia

Meteorologist of the Second Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition at the Akademik Vernadsky station in 1997/98. During her studying at the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute participated in scientific expeditions in West Siberia and Chukotka and visited almost all mountain regions of the former Soviet Union for climbing, skiing and boating. Studied for Ph.D in Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Research Institute in native Kiev where is working now. Winner of some Ukrainian and International scholarships for young scientists. Participated in international conferences in Italy, China, Switzerland. Author of about 20 scientific publications on numerical simulation of meso- and microstructure of frontal rainbands over target areas.
