Dear collegues!

Inform you that Organising Commettee 1UAM2001  hase prolonged the deadline for sending 1UAM2001 abstracts till 15 of May 2001. The abstsacts sent after 15 of May won’t be included in the abstract book. Please take into account that we need your abstracts in English first!

Inform you as well that Organising Commettee 1UAM2001 has decided to publish the abstracts using own resourses. Then the registration fee (for ice-break party) the participants will pay if they wish to take part in ice-break party.

Those participants who need to book a hotel, please, send your information for booking urgently because in June Kiev-city usually is very busy with tourists.

The purpose of the Meeting

Determine of state of the researches of the Ukrainian scientists in Antarctic
Region and perspective directions of researches for the nearest five years.

Subjects of the Meeting

The Meeting is dedicated to scientific and applied research in the field of
meteorology, physics and chemistry of atmosphere, oceanography, geological
oceanography, geology, geophysics, glaciology, ecology, marine biology,
Antarctic medicine and human physiology, other modern problems, bound with
analysis of Antarctic Region.

Separate topics: Logistics . Environment protection.

During the Meeting the round desktops will be organised.

The publication of the abstracts and reports of the Meeting

The abstracts are planned to be published and to be distributed among the
participants during the Meeting.
The texts of the reports is planned to be published in the nearest issue of
the Bulletin Ukrainian Antarctic Center.

Fee

The fee for the participants of the Meeting is about 50 grivnas, which will be used for ice-breaker party. The fee have to be paid on the registration desk by participants who is going to take part in ice-break party.

The hotel will be booked for the participants according their order.

The requirements for abstract and report for edition:

Abstract:

The authors are asked to introduce the abstract via E-mail : Ukrainian or Russian (1 page) and in English ( 1 page) in the ASCII format. The sample of the abstract see below. Deadline of the abstract submission - May 15, 2001.

The report:

The authors introduces the report according the requirements of the
publication in the Bulletin UAC (see web-page:
http://www.antarctida.kiev.ua/1uam2001), exclusively in English and with
Ukrainian (Russian) resume. The abstract of the reports can serve as the text
of the resume. A volume of the reports - 5 pages.

The organizers of the Meeting ask participants to include in the report the
review ( or view) and estimation of state of a problem, prospect for the
development of researches behind a problem on nearest 5 years. The texts of
the reports and their electronic versions have to be left in the Organising
committee during the Meeting.


The requirements to abstract:

1. Abstract Style
Abstracts should be short, clear, concise and written in English with correct
spelling and good sentence structure. Mathematical symbols and equations must
be typed in, and metric symbols should be used. Figures could be included in text if it very important!

2. Abstract Format & Layout
Printing Area: 14.0 cm (width) x 16.5 cm (height/length)
Type Face:      Times New Roman
Type Size:       10 points justified
Line spacing:  1
Style:              All lines flush left!
Text of abstract flush left and flush right (justified)!
Printing:       300 dpi and better

(1) Type  title of contribution in capital letters and in bold (optional).
(2) Leave one blank line  after the title block. (3) Type author(s) followed
directly by abbreviation  (number/symbol) of corresponding affiliation.
Underline or "bold" the name of the  author who will present the paper. Type
corresponding affiliations in next line and add  e-mail or fax number in the
next line. (4) Leave one blank line after the author- and-  affiliation
block. (5) Type text of abstract flush left and right (justified).
Mathematical symbols should be typed in. Metric (SI) symbols be used.
